For the past five years Mac has invested directly into our local youth; giving our children life-changing opportunities to further their education.
Every year Mac provides funding for the arts and for Virgin Islands culture bearers.
Mac is the predominant sponsor of the annual parade.
Mac serves on a panel of unpaid advisors to the Governor who aim to reduce gun violence in the Virgin Islands.
Mac successfully lobbied the USVI Senate in partnership with the V.I. Justice Initiative to pass real criminal justice reforms.
Mac has donated thousands of dollars in toys for abused and/or displaced children.
Mac and his partners have invested millions of dollars into the real economic development of the Virgin Islands.
Mac and his businesses employ thirty-six (36) local Virgin Islanders directly and hundreds indirectly.
Neither Mac nor any of his companies have ever applied for or received any government funding.

Brett M. McClafferty - or Mac - was born in the State of Ohio, but through strong family ties to the U.S. Virgin Islands, St. Thomas became his second home at age eleven.
The product of Italian and Irish immigrants, Mac was raised with middle-class grit that has defined his entire life.
Mac attended law-undergraduate studies at Cleveland State University while taking courses at The Ohio State University, and earned his Professional Certificate in Applied Laws from the University of Notre Dame.
Mac is a private investor and private equity fund manager, who also serves as President and co-owner of a popular restaurant group in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Prior to working in the private equity markets, Mac was a registered lobbyist with both the Office of the Ohio Legislative Inspector General and the United States Congress.
With a background in public service, Mac has served as an Ohio City Commissioner and member of the Ohio Workforce Investment Board. He has also served as an elected member of the Democratic Party Central Committee.
Mac is the Managing Director of The McClafferty Family Foundation, a philanthropic organziation that targets education and poverty issues in the USVI, and has served in this role since 2021.
Mac currently serves on the executive committee for the Virgin Islands Community and Police Association (CAPA) and the Governor's Advisory Council for Gun Violence Prevention in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
